Some
tips on collaborative translation
Thanks
for participating in the collaborative translation and helping to provide this
product in your local language.
Here are some tips to ensure the linguistic quality of your
community-translated products.
Translate and vote
You
may enter your own translation or use voting buttons to vote in favor of an
existing translation.
Accuracy
Try
to keep the translation of the same term or sentence consistent throughout the
product, unless the context implies that the translation needs to express a
different meaning. Make sure that
your translation is not adding or removing information from the source text.
Length
Try
to keep the length of the translated string close to the length of the English
string to avoid the risk of string truncation in the product.
Style
Aim
to appropriately and accurately translate the words so that they convey the
meaning in your own culture. Avoid
unprofessional or improper wording.
Readability
Once
you have translated a sentence, put yourself into the shoes of the other users:
would you be able to understand what is being described? Before you submit a translation, make sure
you did a circumspect reading check.
Play the application
It
is a good idea to visit the corresponding Autodesk web site to see the terms
and sentences in context.

Language dependency
Some
UI (User Interface) strings may be capitalized. Translate them to fit your local
standard. For example,

Do
not miss
The
... at the end of a UI string means a dialog box will pop up when a user clicks
on the item. Do not miss it in your
translation. For example,

Design
Info...
Keep
the space at start of your translation if there is a space at start of the
English source string. For example,

The
